“Rashmi’s make your own picture book workshop was great. Children aged 4 to 7 were able to walk away with a book they had produced, using their own ideas, illustrated with their own imagination and feeling like a published author. Rashmi took them on a journey through the magic of book covers, discussing characters, plots and themes. The boys were able to discuss what they liked about reading, what made a book interesting to them and how they might portray this on a book cover… Rashmi has a great way with children, working with them as a group as well as one to one to help them get the best from their work. The children loved the workshop and felt proud of what they achieved with their very first published story.”
Rashmi came and shared her experiences of being an author and our children were so enthused and inspired. She led three assemblies delivering to from Year 1 all the way through to Year 6, adapting the delivery according to the age and understanding of the children in the room. The emphasis on collaboration and hard work which goes into making a book was really well received. Rashmi is an excellent public speaker and one of the triumphs of the day was answering the myriad of questions which were fired at her! We will certainly be keeping in contact!”
